All right.

I think I'm going to be taking (well, who are we kidding, I HAVE been taking) a long blogger break. I might even delete this blog.

I feel badly that I have people following me, and possibly waiting for me to post, only to become frustrated by the fact that I NEVER do post. I apologize for that.

The other thing is, I've sort of semi-moved on. I still love Richard, and think he's gorgeous and lovely and a perfect actor, but I'm sort of ready to be a grown-up now. Sort of. I spend a lot less time mooning about Richard. I only google him once in a blue moon. I haven't watched North and South in AGES.

Forgive my blasphemies, please. And forgive me. Every once in a while, if I come across a particularly gorgeous picture of RA, or if I suddenly have a need to gush about him, I'll be here. But for now, this is sort of goodbye.

Thanks for everything, guys. MaidMelee, Traxxy, Nat, LadyCassia, phylly3...you guys have been so much fun!

P.S. I'm feeling SO much better now. Thank you so much all for your well wishes!

A rainbow of Richards

Welcome to mysecond FanstRAvaganza post!
Credit for this wonderful banner goes to Bccmee!

Our dear RA looks good in just about anything, doesn't he? I mean, dress him as a clown, and he'd still look pretty sexy.

See what I mean?
We've seen Richard in lots of colors. Black, white, blue, red, green, you name it.
But what color suits him the best? Which color brings out his best features; his eyes and that dazzling smile?

Let's have a look.

Red

Let's see. Actually, I'm not sure red is his color. Of course, he looks gorgeous, but I don't find red does much for him. It just...I'm not even sure how to describe it. Not so much washes him out as just makes his face seem to vanish amidst the red. If that makes sense. I suppose it's obvious why I had to search heaven and earth for a picture of him in red.

Oh dear lord.
Blue
Whoa. There we go. Now I realize why we see him in blue so often. Why? Because he looks fantastic in blue. Let's try not to squeal as we examine this picture, shall we?
See how blue his eyes are! See how white his teeth are! See how lovely his skin looks. Dear Richard, I do believe blue is at least one of your colors.

Black
Yes I am aware there is some blue in there. I just really like this picture.
Ooh my. Another lovely color on him. Black makes his eyes look darker, so I've noticed. Richard looks so great in black, maybe that's why he's such a great bad-guy. Black brings out his wicked side, if you know what I mean. ;)
Definitely a keeper.

White

In contrast, RA looks like an absolute angel in white. Sweet, sincere. Pure, even. And everyone, let's not forget those eyes...
....
....
....
Done staring? Okay, excellent. Moving on.

Green

Okay, so I realize this is more of a khaki/tan, but I can't find a picture of him in a green shirt. (If you happen to find one, post a comment on your thoughts about it!)

My thoughts...eh. Actually, this color on almost anyone sort of...blends in with their skin tone, which isn't exactly flattering. Again, it makes his face sort of invisible.

Orange

Okay well let's all just agree that orange is almost always a hideous color on everyone.
However, this actually looks almost nice on him. It actually makes his skin seem...brighter. Miracle of miracles, huh?

What's YOUR favourite color on RA? I've decided not to make a decision by myself - instead, I'm going to put up a poll, and we'll look at the results on the last day. Sound good?

Lots more fun over THIS way, be sure to have a look!

A day in the life of an RA fanatic (two versions)

What's my excuse for absence this time, you ask? It will all become clear in a moment.

See, I'm doing two posts for the FanstRAvaganza, and one of them is something like "A day in the life of an RA fanatic."
I had planned on writing my daily activities, intermixed with RA-related silliness.

But that was before my days started to decrease in the interesting-factor. I no longer diligently get up, make breakfast for my husband and I, tidy up, head off to work, come home, make dinner all in an orderly(ish) manner.

No, now I kind of sluggishly haul myself everywhere, proud of myself if I manage to wipe down a bathroom without puking.

So you get to see the two versions.

My days have been going something like this (dramatized, somewhat, for viewer's entertainment);

7:00 a.m. Get woken up by husband, steadfastly refuse his well-meant offers of breakfast in bed, instead snarl at him like a hibernating bear and hide under the covers for two more hours, emerging only to grouchily accept a good-bye kiss.

9:00 a.m. Force self out of bed, slowly attempt to inhale-exhale nausea away. Moan to self for about three minutes, then slowly make way into kitchen. Force self to make breakfast. Feel wretchedly nauseus, force food down throat, pray it stays down. Barf. Attempt to wash breakfast dishes and put eggs away.

10:00 a.m. Lie on couch feeling sorry for self. Read newspaper article. Feel ill, try to nap.

11:00 a.m. Force self up off the couch, rummage around bedroom drawers, try to find reasonably presentable outfit for work.

11:15 a.m. Realize that efforts are futile, that there is no way I can survive a whole afternoon in cafe, unless I can purchase a nose-plug, but realize that would be bad for business. Call friend/employer and apologize for not being able to make it to work again. Think that sympathetic understanding of friend masks extreme irritation and feel sorry for self once more.

12:00 p.m. Force self to eat lunch. Pray it stays down, but it doesn't. Tidy living room, flop down on couch once again. Watch What Not To Wear, sleep, attempt to snack, sleep some more.

3:00 p.m. Do things that I actually don't remember. Probably more of snacking, tv watching and sleeping.

5:00 p.m. Make some sort of semblance of a dinner for my husband. Attempt to eat it.

7:00 p.m. Go to bed. Usually try to read, but fatigue and nausea have their way with me and I just sleep.

FanstRAvaganza!

credit for this lovely banner goes too Bccmee!

I've been asked to participate in this year's FanstRAvaganza! I'm so excited!
It starts in March, so keep an eye out for lots of fun, humor and more.

I know what you're all thinking. "Oh great, Rose, who never posts more than...once a month, is going to participating! Way to ruin the fun, geez." But I promise I'll be doing at least two posts for this, and I'll write them waaaay ahead of time, so there are no problems. Okay? ;)

To read more about the event, such as how it came about and what it's purpose is, read Nat's post HERE.
It will also be featured on facebook (link HERE) and twitter (hashtag #FanstRA)

Also check out my blogroll, the ones with a star next to the name are the ones involved in the event, and the ones with two stars are the anchors, who will be posting every day.

Marian Costume Study; Days Eight and Nine

Oops, I've done it again. Gone off on an unannounced "break." What with Christmas stuff, and then a whirlwind of different types of the flu attacking me, I didn't have much time for blogger. And when I did, I was too lazy to post.

Yes, that's me, your ever dedicated blogging queen. *sigh*

Anyway. Here's another Marian Costume Study!

Today will be Episodes Eight and Nine, because there's only one new costume to look at in Eight.

Episode 8
Red dress

This dress seems to be made out of a cheap, semi-coarse material. Doesn't look over comfortable, actually. It's long, from what I saw in the show, it reaches to the ground. I don't remember if there's beading on the bottom hem, but there is on the collar, and I think the sleeves, which are long, and do that cool droop thing, similar to the white winter dress, only not as long.  She's wearing a belt of some sort, but this is the best picture I could find from the waist up.

A closer view of the beading. It could be cute, except that the beads are quite large, and altogether extremely cheap looking.

My Opinion: It's nice. Princess-like, elegant, sophisticated. As previously stated, rather on the cheap looking side, and what is it with all these horribly colored red-orange pieces?

Orange hoodie and patterned vest/coat

Episode 9
Green skirt and sleeves with beige bodice
Look who I snuck in there? heehee.

Guess which repulsive bit of attire decided to make an unwelcome reappearance?
the Bright orange dress, that's which.

Question time! What do you think of the red dress?

Hobbit Trailer!

I won't post it, because everyone else and their grandmother has, but I saw it first on Nat's blog.
And then I hyperventilated.

So now I'm just going to list my favourite parts.
sreencaps are off of richardarmitagecentral.co.uk
1. When we see Thorin on his horse. Because even as a dwarf, he's beautiful, and he's on a horse.

2. When he sings. That's when I stopped breathing. Doesn't he have a lovely voice? I was extremely immaturely excited to hear him sing. And brood. Even with those goofy eyebrows.

3. When he's talking to Gandalf. Because he has a lovely deep voice and I just melt listening to it.

and then some non RA-related parts...

3. When we see Bilbo. Because I am a huge Sherlock fan and was very excited to hear that he was in the Hobbit. And I think he'll be a fantastic Bilbo.

4. When we see the ring. Because it's just so...I don't know. I liked that clip. It made me think of the Lord of The Rings, and how much I love the books.

Okay, well I'm overexcited and I have loads of Christmas baking to do. In case I don't get on before the 25th, Merry Christmas my dears!

I'm baaaack! (and MM costume study; day seven)

Hi everyone. In case you don't remember me, I'm Rose, that girl who posts...not very often, semi-did the Marian costume study, and is a horrible blogger overall.

But this time I have a very good excuse! I'm married! And although, looking back, I probably should have said that I was going to take some time off (...actually, I didn't know I would) I'm still very glad I did.

In the past month and a bit, I've been getting used to married life, and trying to get a job. I've not got a part-time one working at a small home-run coffee shop, and I love it. Right now, I'm living the epitome of happiness.
There, I'm done sounding corny. Moving on!

I thought I'd do a Marian study today, since I haven't done one in a long, looong time.

Today is Episode Seven: Brothers in Arms

Blue dress with long camo vest
Hey look, it's back! Previously studied HERE.

Guy's Necklace
Technically it isn't Guy's, it's Marian's. But he gave it to her. And 'Guy's necklace' sounds nice, I think. Also, I'm aware that this isn't an outfit, but I thought it deserved special attention. Since it plays such a big part in this episode.

From what I can see, it's a bunch of silver loops making a chain, with the occasional extra loop added to random spots? I'm not sure, I'm no jeweller. Also, there appears to be some different pieces. circles with stars in the middle.

My Opinion: Meh. It's not horrible, but it's not great either. I don't find it that pretty, it's too...simple, and also too modern looking.

Orange hoodie and patterned vest/coat

There aren't many good pictures of this one, yet again, but from what I can tell, the shirt is made out of a thin material, probably cotton. The vest/coat is made of a rough material with a beige border, and what looks like...stars? patterned onto it. Because you know, they could do patterns like that back then.

A side-view of the hood, which, I've noticed, sits strangely. Maybe because it's longer than usual?

Hair

This isn't exactly the same time, but it's the same outfit, so I put them together. ...Definitely not one of Marian's better hair days. She looks....scraggly. Unkempt. Definitely not like nobility. Her eye-makeup looks...raccoon-ish.

My Opinion: I'd forgotten about this when I labelled the camo vest as most ugly. At least with that one, she never puts on the hood. This one is positively revolting. She looks...bald, the color is atrocious, and the vest is just...strange. Definitely dislike.

Undergarments

That's all for this episode! My question: what do you think of the orange outfit?

*squee*

Watch. This. The very end, anyway. Today I had a bit of free time, so I was aimlessly surfing the 'net, reading random articles, watching interviews and such. I'd been chatting with a friend earlier, who informed me that she'd nearly finished watching Robin Hood. I think I may have nearly converted her to RA-dom. She says she finds him extremely attractive and she wasn't angry with Guy when he killed Marian. These are very good signs.

Anyway, I was watching some RH interviews, including this one.

Make sure to pay attention to that last bit.

"...I really really enjoy filming scenes with Richard (Armitage), because...oh, uh, he has me running around on the floor, I find him quite hysterical."

Lucy, that is music to my ears. I love that you like filming with him. And I love that he has such a wonderful sense of humour. Now I'm feeling all warm inside, imagining the two of them joking around and laughing right after he threatens to kill her or something. *moony sigh*

Have any of you other lovely ladies thought that Richard and Lucy would make a wonderful couple? Cause I do!

Dear Mr. Fassbender...

BUGGER OFF. Seriously, this whole usurping-of-my-affections-thing is not cool. Not.Cool. I'm a diehard Richard fan, okay? I'm obsessed with HIM. Not YOU.

What was that? What do you think you're doing, just sneaking into my post like you own the place?

You're a devious one.
You started with X-Men. You know, I went to see James McAvoy, not you! I liked X-Men for X-Men! But nooooo...you march on screen, all suave and sexy, and of course, a bad guy in turmoil, so I fell for you immediately. My mother is getting concerned about my crushes on bad guys.

Then came Jane Eyre. I didn't really like the 2006 one, partly because Mr. Rochester gave me the willies. But that may have been Toby Stephen's fault. I was all prepared to hate that man, but you waltz in front of the camera, looking ridiculously hot...and I fell again.

What is your problem? Are you that greedy? You probably have tons more fans than poor RA.

...Really? Are you that vain? What are you doing in here again?

You know what I'm going to do?

There. I still love him more. You be also be manly and gorgeous, but I've known him longer and have stalked him longer.

I've made a point of watching as many of his films as I can. I've watched TWO of yours. TWO.

Anyway. Stop magically showing up in my google searches. It's getting annoying.

~Rose

Haha. I've been meaning to post about my other actor-crushes. To prove that I'm not 100% obsessed with dear RA.

I've also got a crush on Gerard Butler...

And Eric Bana.

But the most assertive one has been Michael lately. He just won't leave me alone!
I think that maybe I need to go re-watch Robin Hood or North & South to remind myself who I love the most. ;)

Who are your other actor-crushes?
